Do you ever have those days that everything goes wrong, and then some? Something happens at work, then you start feeling sick, and things just keep going wrong. Some days just require courage.
The moments that define us are not the moments when everything is going smoothly, but rather the times that everything is stacked against us. It’s easy to get in the mindset of “why is everything happening to ME” - not soon after you’re forgetting about the entire world around you, the needs of others, the ways you have still been blessed by God.
One of the best things you can do that has helped me (when I remember, at least) is to take a moment when things are going well to pray for strength and the lessons that will sustain you when things go wrong. Then, when things go wrong, give thanks to God for all the blessings you have - the roof over your head, the food you eat, education you have, the friends and family you have. Have the courage to place your TRUST in Jesus to take care of your anxieties. It doesn’t come easy without practice.
Here’s a short prayer to get you started:
“Jesus, thank you for all the blessings you have given me today. Help me to have the courage to trust you in all times. I give you my anxieties and challenges and trust you will guide me in the week ahead. Amen”
